Beside the actual software development, the MARS project serves as a research environment for students of the information technology syllabus of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. To ensure the suitability for real-world applications, the MARS team works together in interdisciplinary teams. Domain experts like biologists and geologists use our software and provide valuable feedback.
MARS in Use
MARS is part of the currently ongoing research project ARS AfricaE. This internationally sponsored project examines the interdependencies of different tree and animal species in the Kruger National Park, South Africa, with MARS being the key to simulate the current situation and allow projections toward the future. More details and past projects are presented in the section Applications.
Do you have a field of application that could make use of MARS? We’d be glad to hear from you!
The MARS team develops new processes of simulation design and incorporates cutting-edge technologies. The experiences and know-how are gathered and published in papers. A listing of publications related to MARS can be found here.
Write your Thesis with MARS
Each semester, we look for new students eager to write their bachelor or master’s thesis in the context of the MARS framework. Whether you want to concentrate on specific framework components themselves or you prefer modelling a scenario with MARS – your opportunities are manifold. We have an occasionally updated list of thesis proposals right here. Feel free to contact us!
